Services
I use Microsoft Track Changes for my digital proofreading and editing. The CMS and APA are the basis for language rules. I will also work with a specific style sheet if your document requires it.
If helpful, I can edit using either British or American English.
Cost is generally calculated per word or per page, and may depend on the amount of editing/correction required. In some cases, a flat fee will be possible. We will agree on cost/payment in discussion and in it will be reflected in our contract.
Larger projects will require a deposit plus milestone payments.
Proofreading
I will do a thorough surface check of your finished work, focusing on grammar, spelling, punctuation, indentation, spacing, fonts, etc. There is no rewriting/editing of material at this stage. This is the final stage of editing before submission or publication.
Copy Editing
I will make sure that your writing follows house style (if applicable) and language rules, including grammar, spelling and punctuation. Minor rewriting of sentences and/or paragraphs may be necessary. Light or heavy editing may be required based on your material.
Line Editing
I will check through your material line by line and rewrite or delete text in order to make sentences or paragraphs flow more clearly, while preserving your voice and writing style. This level of editing does not include the correction of spelling, grammar, or punctuation.
